Nariko est une illustratrice née et élevée sur la petite île japonaise d’Okinawa. Elle a déménagé au Québec après avoir obtenu son diplôme d’une école de design et d’illustration à Tokyo en 2017. Passionnée de lecture depuis son enfance, Nariko dévore des livres jeunesse, des mangas et des romans. Après son arrivée au Québec, elle a continué à travailler comme illustratrice pour le marché japonais tout en apprenant le français. Sa technique principale est l’aquarelle, et son style unique fusionne le fantastique avec la tranquillité de la vie quotidienne. Elle puise son inspiration principalement dans les livres jeunesse occidentaux, tout en y intégrant une touche de son héritage japonais. Parmi ses influences, on retrouve Akira Toriyama, le Studio Ghibli, les mangas japonais. Nariko vit actuellement au Québec avec son mari et leurs deux chiens.

Nariko is an illustrator born and raised on the small Japanese island of Okinawa. She moved to Quebec after graduating from a design and illustration school in Tokyo in 2017. A passionate reader since childhood, Nariko devours children's books, manga and novels. After arriving in Quebec, she continued working as an illustrator for the Japanese market while learning French. However, driven by her long-standing goal of creating picture books, Nariko embarked on her career as a children's book author and illustrator in 2024.

Her main technique is watercolor, and her unique style fuses fantasy with the tranquility of everyday life. She draws her inspiration mainly from Western children's books, while integrating a touch of her Japanese heritage. Her influences include Akira Toriyama, Studio Ghibli and Japanese manga. Nariko currently lives in Quebec with her husband and their two dogs.
